Caitlin O'Neil

Practice Manager

Hello! My name is Caitlin, and I have been with Walnut Street Animal Hospital since 2017. I started out as a receptionist and after being with this practice for a year, I was promoted to Manager and transferred to our sister location, Capital Blvd Animal Hospital. I absolutely loved the experience of opening a new clinic and getting acquainted with all of the rescues.

I am now being transferred to our newest location, Maynard Animal Hospital, as Manager and will be working very closely with the rescues. I admire the work the rescues do, and since being with this practice, I adopted three rescue kiddos of my own, Dumbo Jr (a cat), Snowflake (a dog), and Reese's (a dog). When I am not at work I am spending pool days with my human kiddos and/or watching Trolls on repeat.

Madison MacDonald

Lead Veterinary Assistant

Hello! My name is Madi and I am currently a junior at NC State University studying Animal Science, though my dream is to continue on to become a veterinarian! Although I don’t have any fur babies of my own, I am grateful that I have the privilege to give love and help to all of our patients here! Since my family lives in the good ‘ol state of Indiana, this hospital has definitely become my home away from home, and I am so lucky to be a part of this wonderful team!
Madison MacDonald

Cristina Lanzon

Veterinary Assistant

Hey! My name is Cris. (With no 'h'. That's important!)

Born and raised in Michigan, I moved to North Carolina on a whim and have been with Maynard Animal Hospital for almost a year. I had only been working in the veterinary field for around six months when Maynard took me on as an assistant, and I couldn't be happier. I enjoy working here so much (even on stressful days), and I adore my coworkers to my core. There's really not much more I could ask for in a workplace.

While I don't currently have any kiddos of my own, you'll often hear me talk about my family dogs, a 14-year-old Jack Russell Brussel Griffon named Lucky and a 5-year-old Havanese named Castiel (Cas for short). Those two single-pawedly jumpstarted my undying love for little dogs, and having dogs all my life definitely played a role in my interest in veterinary medicine. I love them both to bits and miss them every day. Thankfully, my mom keeps me updated with frequent pictures, who knows what I'd do otherwise.
Cristina Lanzon
Outside of work, you can usually find me playing video games with my friends, writing silly convoluted stories, singing a LOT (I must drive my coworkers crazy; Bless their hearts!), reading manga, or watching anime. Gotta enjoy the simple things in life, right?

It's been such an exhilarating experience getting to know and work with our amazing clientele and their precious kiddos. I've already learned an incredible amount in my short time here, and I'm so excited to continue to cultivate my breadth of knowledge to help provide as best care to your babies as I possibly can!

Hannah Rubas

Veterinary Assistant

Hello, all of my furry friends and their wonderful owners! My name is Hannah. I am originally from New York but recently moved to North Carolina upon being accepted to NC State University. I am a junior enrolled in the animal science program with hopes of one day becoming a veterinarian. Since I was seven years old, I have wanted to become a doctor, and working with your babies every day reminds me how much I love helping and caring for them as if they were my own. While I do love my dogs and cats, I hope to become a large animal veterinarian one day with a focus on equine and dairy reproduction.

I currently have one fur baby at home, my kitten, Ella. She is the spunkiest and craziest kitten and always keeps us all on our toes, but we love her unconditionally. In my free time, I enjoy naps with my kitty, baking, and listening to music on my record player. I am so thankful to be a part of this wonderful team where we will always love on your babies like they were our own!

Mikayla Mishler

Veterinary Assistant

Hello! My name is Mikayla, and I am a junior at NSCU where I study Zoology and Conservation science, which will hopefully help me get my dream job as a Field Researcher. I grew up around animals and the care and compassion that I have towards them reflects in my work as well as dictates my field of study. I currently work at the Maynard location as a vet assistant, and I love my job and all that it entails. I love being able to work closely with owners and their pets to help keep the fur babies healthy and happy. I currently have one fur baby at home, and she makes me appreciate the work I do even more.

On my free time I like to spend time outside with my dog taking her for walks, hiking, or any other outdoor activity that we can do together. I also enjoy cozying up on the couch with my pup and a good book or to binge the newest Netflix show.
